FYI, With the license requirement for VHF dropped by the FCC you still need an FCC License for the vessel, and an operators permit for you, if you add SSB or go into foreign waters! FCC Marine License Service from HF Radio, plus forms instructions and do-it-yourself information H.F. Radio on Board will fill out and file the forms for you, for a fee of $125. License information typically appears in the FCC database the next business day. This is in addition to the required FCC fees. Print out this information sheet, fill in the info, and fax it to us at 510-291-3167 We'll handle the rest! If you want to do it yourself, read on... Forms needed: Everything is now done on form 605 and associated schedules - both the Ship Station License (Schedule B) and the Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit (Schedule E). You need a separate 605 form for each license along with form 159 – Fee Remittance Advise - one copy to submit with each of the above.
